Constructive 5.8 – IFC 3D Import & Selection Search

Features: IFC Import, Job Quants Selection search, Multiple Mandatory Selection Type and Material Rendering Improvements

1. IFC Import
You can now drop IFC exports from Revit or Archicad into Constructive and it will automatically process them into interactive 3D visualisations in 2 minutes (not a small feat!). Just upload the file to the job under job documents as the HouseModel category and let Constructive do its magic.

2. Job Quants Selection Search
You can now search for specific selections on the job quants page, so you can see which quants to remove to get rid of a specific selection.

3. Multiple Mandatory
You’ve now got a fourth selection type of multiple mandatory (you’ll need to select at least one selection). This now gives you the option to allow multiple selections but require at least one before finalising the paperwork.

4. Material Rendering Improvements
Enhancing the 3D further with reflective and metallic surfaces, vital for taps, basins and sinks. I wonder what’s coming next….

Constructive Update 5.6

Constructive 5.6 – Selections – Preselected Choices

Features: Preselected Choice Editing Screens

1. Preselected Choice Editing
An early Christmas present, we’ve now upgraded the Selection Template Edit Screens to allow you to control the preselected choices.

You can nominate the preselected choice to be loaded on selections creation by specification and optionally for specific areas of the house (the default is for all areas). If editing preselections, please check with your Customer Success Manager to ensure that preselections are turned on for you.

2. Selection Reports of Only Upgrade Items
When generating reports from the Job details screen, you will now be prompted to either leave all price categories ticked or remove the pricing categories you don’t want to show on the reports. This is really useful to print off a list of only priced items as a backing sheet to a variation.

Please note to generate the reports exactly like you do now please just leave all tick boxes ticked.

3. Small Bugfixes
We’ve resolved several small bugs around preselections and duplicates, as well as rare conditions of duplicate selections made.

Constructive 5.5 – Help System, Email Tracking and Selections By Area

Features: Help System, Multiple Email Address Per Client, Email Status Notifications, Job Cancelled actions and hidden progress stages

1. Help system
It may be a small icon, but it will provide a lot of power. If you’re a company administrator you will now see a helpdesk icon in the bottom right of the admin pages.

This will bring up a list of the most useful articles and then you can search the knowledge base and create support tickets directly from the help desk widget.

2. Job Cancelled Action
You can now configure clients to be automatically locked out of the customer portal or online colour selections if their job moves to the cancelled status. This can also trigger an automatic email to the client. If you want to set this up please talk to you Client Success Manager.

3. Email Status Notifications
We now track every action of the emails sent outbound from the customer portal. You can now see when the email was delivered and then opened by the client. Equally, if the email address is incorrect or the email bounced then we can alert your staff via a notification email, to ensure nothing slips through the cracks. Please contact your Client Success Manager to ensure this is set up for your company and it is going to the right place.

4. Multiple Client Email Addresses
You can now manually configure client user accounts to have ‘secondary’ email addresses that receive all the same email notifications. Just edit the specific user account and add in the secondary email addresses.

5. Client Hidden Progress Items -> Trigger Progress Emails & Surveys
Often we get asked to trigger automatic progress emails or customer surveys based on tasks the client shouldn’t see. Now we can do this via client hidden progress tasks.

6. Selections Group by Area/Room
Last but by no means least, we can now optionally show a switch to group selections by areas first, and then by selection group. This means you can choose to do selections room by room or by Selection Group – your choice!

Constructive 5.4 – 3D Landscapes and 3D Selection Menu

Features: 3D Landscapes, 3D Selection Highlighting and 3D Selections Pop up

1. 3D Landscapes
We’ve been bringing jobs to life with their working drawings for some time now, but now we’ve taken the further step of putting the houses in a more beautiful context. You can now add preconfigured landscapes to the 3D models to show of the clients home in all it’s glory.

On the model edit screen (see the new menu in the admin screen called 3D) you now have a drop-down to select from a list of landscapes. In the Model edit screen, we’ve done a lot of work to bring the experience in line with what the client will see. So no surprises, you’ll see shadowing, garage doors, and entry doors as the client sees them, no need now to jump to the client-side to do final verification.

2. 3D Selection Highlighting
Obviously being housing geeks we know what a finial or barge & scribes are, but the clients find this much more difficult, now when putting your mouse over a surface (e.g. roof cover) it highlights the relevant bits that the selection covers. Simple but very effective. Again we have applied this to the Model edit screen as well.

3. 3D Selection Toggle Button
A much wished-for option to avoid the need to go back out of 3D view to ‘unselect’ something. You can now just click a second time on a choice in 3D view to unselect it. Simple!

4. 3D Selections Pop Up Menu
When clicking on an area where two or more different choices can be made, it will now pop up a menu to allow you to go to the relevant selection. This is awesome!

5. 3D Optimisations
There has been a massive amount of work under the hood optimising the 3D view and the way we get 3D models into Constructive, all of which you won’t see, but trust us it was worth it!

Constructive 5.3 – Package View, No Price Change and Reset Job

Features: Package View Enhanced, No Price Change Choices and Job Selection Admin Actions

1. Selections – Package View
Over the years the package view has been used for more and more choices, and its usage has grown past the simple colour boards it once did. We now see packages with more than 100 choices within them – all making life easier for the colour/prestart consultant. We’ve now caught up and greatly improved the non 3D package view to not duplicate items when in multiple rooms, and to take up less of the screen for each item.

To see the names hover over the choice, or click ‘more details’ to expand out to the old (more detailed view).

2. Selections – No Price Change Choices (Negative)
A greatly requested feature. We now have the ability to distinguish between items that are ‘Standard’ for the specification and those that are a ‘No Price Change’ (lesser cost items). To set this up please discuss this with your Customer Success Manager. By default, no action is required and Constructive will show as it did before using ‘Standard’ for the choices with a lesser price than the ‘Standard’ item for the specification. We envisage that you would alter the No Price Change terminology at the selection level. As such you can now set this in the selection edit screen.

3. Selections – Standard Terminology
Along with no price change we can also change the wording we use for ‘Standard’ choices (the same price as the ‘Standard’ choice in the specification). This can be set on the same selection edit screen as the No Price Change option

4. Selections – Package Price Override
The same way you can override the sell price for a choice, you can now do this for a package.

5. Selections – Job Admin Actions
We’ve now added some more job admin functions and had to create their own dedicated menu in the job details screen

Reload Selections – With or Without Recalc Prices
When you trigger reload selections you can now untick the price recalculation for selected items. This enables you post colours/prestart meeting to reload to get the new choices, but not have the prices move on you.

Recalculate Prices
If we just want to recalculate the prices but not to recalculate the choices, this is the button for you.

Copy Selections
Copy the selections made in another job into this job. Please note if the selection doesn’t exist in the destination job then it won’t copy the selection choice in.

Reload Quantities
Reload the quantities from the base house type, and remove any edited quantities.

Reset Job Details
This is the nuclear option. This gives you the ability to completely remove all choices made and all edit job quantities. You can now start from scratch without having to raise a support ticket.

6. Selections – Note Required
We now only need one type of note, builder or client. It will now accept either the builder note or the client note as satisfying the note required choice.

Constructive 5.2 – Progress Template and Price List Extract

Features: Progress Template Improvements, Progress Emails Setup Screens and Price List Export from Selection Template

1. Progress Template Improvements
A major improvement in the visibility of your customer portal set up, we’ve enhanced the progress template page to show you the key information you need. You will now be able to see if a progress task triggers a customer survey, a progress email, or the addition of a document. At a glance, you can see the customer experience journey that your customers will experience.

When editing a Progress Task you can see the multiple tabs to see the details of what is triggered from this task and also be able to jump to the relevant edit screens.

2. Progress Email Setup Screens
Up to this point, we’ve been able to set up automatic progress emails to be sent to the client via task completions, but there hasn’t been an edit screen for you to be able to manage yourself. We’ve now plugged that gap.

3. Job Contact Hidden Option
Not always do you want to show the Sales Consultant to the client, but you might still want them to be able to login to see their clients. You can now do this by hiding the relevant roles from the client.

4. Job Contact Role Name Fix
We have now made sure that wherever you see a job contact role name (e.g. Sales Consultant or Supervisor) the terminology is consistent for the client and your staff. We used to have the issue where Job Details would show the Constructive name for the role. We’ve now squashed this ‘bug’!

5. QR Code Report by Template or Selection
You can generate QR codes from the selection template in a far easier way, no longer one by one. You can either print off every QR code (at Selection Template level) or tick the ones you want to print off within the individual selection. Just click the relevant buttons on each page.

6. Extract Pricing for Selection Template – Price List Report
Everyone knows the more you see the pricing the easier it is to manage, and there is no better way for an estimator to see the pricing than in Excel! So to make life heaps easier we’ve added a button on the selection template to download the whole selection template with pricing (based upon some selections – brand, housetype, specification, etc). This enables you to download and review the pricing against each other in a convenient way.

In the Price List Report Settings you can optionally choose the Business Unit, Brand and/or Region to generate the prices for (if any of these have unique pricing). You will have to define the Housetype and specification (denoted by *), as these are required to generate any pricing. The format can be PDF (a report) and CSV (excel format).

Constructive Update 5.1

Constructive 5.1 – Selections Suggested Item Improvements

Features: Suggested Items Improvements and Projects Job Configuration

1. Suggested Items Improvements
We are extremely excited to be able to bring you a new and improved way of suggesting your new items for us to create in the product library.

We take great pride in offering the free service of maintaining our huge product library, ensuring the highest quality of images and information, so you don’t have to!

Our new function will allow for these items to be suggested directly from your selection template and create a “placeholder” until the item is approved. This will save you time on going back into your template once the item is approved and adding it back in! You can also price the items, while they are in this “Pending” status, reducing the amount of back and forth you need to complete within your template.

Please see link to our knowledge-based article to take you step by step through this new and improved process: How to Suggest New Items

2. Projects Job Configuration
We’ve now enhanced the job details screen to include the ability to configure parent jobs directly from within Constructive.

Constructive Update 4.31

Constructive 4.31 – 3D Enhancements and Selections Write Up

Features: 3D Speed Improvements, Rotation Configuration and further enhanced selections print offs

1. 3D Speed Improvements and Configurable Rotation limits
We’ve done some under the hood improvements to the 3D visualisation to improve the performance. This lays the foundations for some good improvements to the 3D view to come.

We’ve also made the view of the house model more configurable, by allowing you to control how high, or how far around the model you allow your clients to rotate. You can change this setting in Settings (Selections->3D).

2. Enhanced Selections Print Options
Constructive is now a fully fledged addenda/selections system, allowing the generation of contract/tender selections print offs, which will ignore any client selections made to date (thus allowing you to give selections to the client at deposit or even pre-deposit stage). This was an important enhancement to ensure you can still give the great engagement tool to the client as early as you like, but still have paperwork integrity.

Combine this with previous improvements in product pre selections based on specification, default wording if no selection has been made (e.g. ‘To Be Selected from builders standard range’), ability to generate different print offs from the same selection information and you’ve got a system that covers the entire lifecycle of the selections write up process.

If you want to talk about extending Online Selections with the Addenda/Selections Write up bolt-on then please contact James Salt to discuss further.

Constructive 4.30 – Email Tracking and Locking Packages

Features: Job Emails, 3D Package Notifications, Locking Packages, Sell Price Visibility, Slab Supervisor and Sales Admin Roles and Job Elevation

1. Job Emails
One of the most requested features is the ability to see the complete history of emails that have been sent to the client. We have now added the Emails tab on the Job Details screen to show these emails.

Each email is displayed in full, with a visible indicator of status (green means sent successfully).

All customer portal activity update emails, customer survey requests and progress tasks completion emails will show in this tab.

Please note this will only show new emails as from June 10th, for traceback further than this please create a support ticket.

2. Packages 3D Selection notification changes
Packages are an awesome way of giving your expertise to your client at home. Create colour schemes and your client can start working from something that looks good on the 3D model. We’ve adjusted the notifications so that it no longer gives an ‘error’ message if not all of the package items are visualised on the 3D, and if a package contains two options for the same selection it will not tell the client that the visualisation won’t be updated until a selection has been made (e.g. choice of standard brick or upgrade brick within the same package)

3. Locking Packages
There is a new option on a package selection, that will stop the client being able to select a choice outside of the package choices. This enables you to setup prescriptive selections that you know the client cannot choose outside of.

4. Sell Price Visibility
We can now control at which point clients see sell pricing. Independent to this your internal staff will still see the pricing. This could enable Sales Consultants, Selections Consultants or Contract Admins to have the power of the pricing, but not display this to the client. This can be useful for selections prior to deposit taken. This can be controlled on a job by job basis via the Client Visible Prices tick box.

5. Job Contacts – Sales Admin and Slab Supervisor
We’ve added two additional job roles. To add these to your jobs either directly assign the users in the Job Contacts tab, or request the change to your integration to pull this information through on to your customer portal.

6. Job Details – Elevation
A new field of ‘Elevation’ has been added to the Selections tab of the job details page. This is available to pull through on to any of the selection reports.

Constructive 4.28.3 – Client Visible Selections Switch

Client Visible Selections Control

We can now prepare selections without it being visible to already registered users. This will allow you to prepare the selections in terms of job quantities (what is in the job), pre-selected items (selected during sales) and non-applicable selections (due to specific plan details).

When you’re ready then tick the selections visible tick box to then trigger the selections available email to go to the client.

We can also control what the default is when integrating/creating jobs in Constructive so that Constructive Online 3D Selections fits with your business process seamlessly.

This works hand in hand with the 3D Client visible switch we introduced in the last release, allowing you more control of what is presented to the clients.

Constructive Update 4.28

Constructive 4.28 – Colour Selections and Progress Documents

Features: Text Searchable Choices, User Entry Choices, Choices requiring notes, Preselected Choices, Progress Documents and much more!

1. Text Searchable Choices
To enable colour/prestart consultants to write up the colour selections as quickly as possible we have added the ability to select items directly in the My Selections listing screen. Not only that but also you can use the inbuilt text search to quickly find that specific colour.

Please note this is only available if you have the Addenda Module, and then only to Selection consultant role users.

2. Preselected Choices – Standard Items
The majority of selections are not customer choices and don’t change job to job. We now have the facility to pre-select choices without any manual work per job. This makes the selections write up much quicker.

Please note this is only available if you have the Addenda Module.

3. Custom Choices
Not every choice in selections is a product or needs an image. We have now added the ability to add a custom choice to any selection which is not a full blown item. It won’t have a price or an image, but it allows you those more ad-hoc type selection types.

Please note this is only available if you have the Addenda Module.

4. Default no item Selected Text by Report Layout
When printing off selections that are partially completed you want to display specific text e.g. ‘To be selected from builders standard range’ or similar. We now can do this specific to a report layout (e.g. Contract Addenda or specification sheet) and specification level. This will massively reduce duplication of effort allowing multiple uses for the selections template.

Please note this is only available if you have the Addenda Module.

5. Progress Documents
You can now configure documents to be auto-added to any job (based on brand, business unit and/or region) when progress tasks are completed. This is configured in the admin section under Documents->Shared Documents. This now makes it easy to manage all your standard literature and resources and delivers it to the clients at the relevant point in the process.

6. Client Visible 3D Checkbox
To allow for visible checking of per job 3D models we’ve added the ability to have 3D hidden from the client, but still visible by your company users, selections consultants etc. This allows for checking of the 3D model prior to providing to the client.

During integration, this can be defaulted to hidden or shown automatically.

7. Choices Requiring Notes
Some choices require additional notes, so we’ve now added a tick box to any choice to allow you to decide at a template level which choices have to have a note added on selection. No longer do we need specific items created in the library to require notes.

Constructive 4.24 – Selection Layouts, Hidden Selections and Print Selection Area Grouping

Features: Selection Layouts, Hidden Selections and Print Selection Area Grouping

1. Selection Layouts
We’ve added in the ability to have multiple layouts of selections. Imagine having one grouping and ordering of selections for the client at home, then another grouping and ordering for the selections print off, and another specifically targetted for your construction team (with their own grouping and ordering). This is now a reality all from the same selections information, no longer make compromises for each audience, tailor it to their needs to ensure clear communication.

If you wish to use this functionality please get in contact with me and I can arrange a training session. Video tutorials will follow.

2. Hidden Selections
To save you from having to tick every choice as hidden, we have now added a tick box at the selection level, to hide the whole selection. This will make it much easier to control. The user interface now visually shows the hidden selections to make it really easy to understand what the client will see.

Please see below for where you would tick to hide the whole selection from the client. Note, this does not hide it from the selections consultant.

3. Print Selection Area Grouping
Now we can order the house type areas in the house type screen. We’ve added the ability to group the selections by area under each selection group for a specific layout. The most common use case for this is grouping the sanitaryware by room first, and then by selection. Very useful for the trades and supervisor.

Constructive update 4.23.1

Constructive 4.23.1 – Selections Meeting improvements and Area Ordering

Features: Hidden Selection Choices, House Type Area Ordering, Targetted Job Panel and Manual Progress Task Removal

1. Hidden Selection Choices
We’ve been consistently working to enhance the functionality within the selections meeting. We’ve now altered the standard view for the company users (selections consultants and contract administrators) to show by default the hidden choices (the choices the clients don’t see at home). We’ve also changed the look of hidden items so they are not greyed out anymore, enabling a better user experience in the selections meeting.

Please remember that you can tick the choice as hidden from the client in the selections template screen against each individual choice. We will be simplifying this for hiding whole selections in our next release.

2. House Type Area Ordering
An often requested feature to enable ordering of the house area specific choices. We now allow you to drag and drop the areas within the house type to set the order of the areas. This order is used in the selections screens and in all print offs.

We also then allow manual reordering at the job level (so that you can manage the order of manually added areas to that specific job). Just go to the quants page in Job details and drag and drop the areas. Please note that if you set the order at the job level, house type ordering will no longer apply to this job.

3. Targetted Job Panel
We’ve since many requests for showing the admin users the last job they looked at, so they can jump back to it or jump into the detail screen for editing.

4. Manual Progress Task Removal
To help you solve problems and manage the progress tasks within the job details page, we’ve added the remove button to job progress. This removes it from the clients view. Use this for optional tasks like Planning or Developers Approval to ensure the portal progress page is specific to that client.

Other Small Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • Display product codes when adding new items to the selection.
  • Display previously added products in the add new choice screen to make it clearer what is already in the selection (shows as greyed out)
  • An adjustable opacity of window glass in the 3D view
  • Copy selections now copies the builder note and the admin note

Constructive Update 4.22.5

Constructive 4.22.5 – Job Progress Page and 3D Improvements

Features: Admin screen for Job Progress and 3D improvements

1. Admin screen for managing Job Progress within the customer portal
We have steadily been enabling the ability to see the job information within the admin job details page, and today we’ve added a big piece of functionality. Job Progress. You can now record the start and completion dates within the admin screen. These completions will trigger the activity notifications and the customer surveys.

This screen is very useful for reference as well.

If you have been holding back from using the portal side of Constructive software because you’ve not wanted (or can’t) do integration with your tracking software, then this will no longer be an issue. Contact me to discuss further.

2. 3D Improvements
We’ve been working hard to make the 3D visualisations as flexible and as beautiful as possible. One important part of the elevation of the home is the garage door. We have now enabled logic to replace the garage door with models of the different profiles so that it looks more realistic and allows us to visualise the timber look style finishes.

Other 3D improvements

  1. We now allow for houses of different orientations (such as multi unit development jobs)
  2. We now allow for different selection mappings for different units within a multi unit development

Constructive 4.22 – 3D Selection, Job Quants and Multiple Photo upload

Features: 3D Selection, Selection Notes, Copy Selections, Job Quants and Multiple Photo uploads

1. 3D Selection
We’ve now enabled the client to select the selection to choose by just clicking on the relevant part of the 3D model. There is now no need to hunt through obscure selection names to find the right one.

Just click on the relevant part of the 3D model and it will jump to the first selection applicable to that section.

This improvement also is applied to the Model admin screen making it much, much quicker to do any manual mapping, as you can now just click on the section not mapped and it will jump to that item in the list automatically.

Other 3D improvements

  1. The client is now able to toggle the display of the selection description within 3D mode.
  2. The 3D model is now visible after the selections have been completed, enabling the client to still enjoy the view of their beautiful new home.

2. Selection Notes
Since introducing the builder notes system into selections, it has been well used. We’re now enhancing it further to allow two different types of notes; client notes that they can make at home, and builder notes that only you as builders can make. This will help your client make notes for themselves, but still enable you to do the formal writeup note to go on any documentation.

I advise you to encourage the client to enter any notes as they go through online selections prior to the selections meeting.

3. Copy Selections
On the job details page you can now copy selections from another job to the current job you are looking at. An often requested feature to allow unit selections to copy from one another.

The two jobs must be the same selection template though!

4. Job Quants Improvements
Job quantities are the driving force behind making the selections specific to the job. Increasing customer satisfaction by not showing them irrelevant information.

Copy Area
It is now easy to create a new area with all the same quants as another area, just click on the three dots next to the area you want to copy from and then select the name of the new area. Easy!

Delete Area
Remove many quantities in a single click by clicking on the three dots and remove a whole area in one go.

Filtered Dimension Types/Quantity Types
No longer will you see irrelevant dimension types that are not in your possible list of selections. It now will show you a much smaller list based on what you use! You can still get back to the much longer list by ticking the box to show all. Again this is designed to make the process of job prep much quicker.

5. Multiple Photo Upload
Finally but by no means least, we have enabled multiple photo upload in one go. Making it much easier to upload large numbers of photos in one go. Supervisors rejoice!

Constructive Update 4.21

Constructive 4.21 – Job Photos, Documents and Selections Improvements

1. Job Photos & Documents

Job Details screen now has two new pages.

Job Photos
The photos page shows all the photos visible to the client in the customer portal. It gives you three important controls: upload new photos, delete photos and edit the description of photos. For most of you the photos come direct from a source system, but if you are uploading directly to Constructive this gives you far more control.

Job Documents
Documents are typically uploaded from your internal document management system. With the new documents screen, you can now manually control documents, by deleting, uploading new documents and editing descriptions and names of existing documents. To add documents just click the big plus button!

With this new control comes new responsibilities. Please do not edit anything if you do not know the outcomes (especially on live sites). Please feel free to discuss any changes prior to at least the first couple of times!

2. Selection Improvements

We’ve made lots of enhancements to Selections:

Reload Selections Performance Improvements
As an action you do repeatably and has in the past taken some time, we have now optimised the reload selections to dramatically improve the speed.

Selection Template Editing Improvements
We’ve taken valuable feedback on the selection template edit screen to bring in two often requested features: drag and drop reordering of the selections or selection groups and expand and contract of the selection groups themselves making long scrolling a thing of the past.

Sell Price filter by Business Unit and Brand
We now have additional filters on the sell price screen to just filter to prices applicable to a specific brand or business unit. Please note this will still show those prices that are generic as they still apply to this business unit / brand.

Available Items Report Includes Choice Grouping
We added the ability to group choices together to make it easier for the client, and with this release, we have added these groupings to the invaluable ‘Available Items’ report.

Manufacturer Override
We can now override the manufacturer we display to the client under an item. This can be done at the Selection level (all choices show as the nominated Manufacturer/Supplier) or at an individual choice level. This gives you maximum control and deals with the reseller scenario.

With this new control comes new responsibilities. Please do not edit anything if you do not know the outcomes (especially on live sites). Please feel free to discuss any changes prior to at least the first couple of times!

We have introduced a job listing page, that sits alongside the job search function. The listing gives you the ability to do some basic filtering and text searching and immediately shows some of the job information.

As part the of the job listing we have given you two actions:
1. to open the Client view straight from the list (button on far left of each row) and
2. to open the job details page (the three horizontal dots on the right-hand side of the row).
This navigation is a major improvement on the ease of navigating to the client view (reduction of at least three mouse clicks).

You’ll notice that if you use Online selections there is a column to show you the progress of the client through their selections. We are aiming to give you the information you need as quickly as possible. This widget shows the selections made of mandatory at the top, middle row is the optional selections, and then the selection status below.

2. New Job Details
As part of the job listing, we have revisited the job details page. It now provides a much more user-friendly layout and has action buttons in a more accessible location.

We have also removed the ‘Set As Target’ button so that to open a client view of the job just takes one click in the top right-hand corner.

Tabs at the top now replace the old hidden tab menu to the side, and we’ve put more on each tab.

3. Job Quantities
As part of the new job details page, we now have a new job quantities page. This is much easier to use as you can now see all the quants on one page, and they are grouped by the area of the house.

Altering quantities is easy by just overriding the current quantity. Removing the quant is as simple as pressing on the x.

4. Security Role Changes
We have renamed the old security role of Prestart Consultant to be called Contract Admin. Please note this does not affect anything the client sees. The Contract Admin security role has all the permissions required to manage a job and alter required information. If a user needs to edit a job please use this security role.

5. Additional Selected Items Reports
To enable varying print off of the online selection choices, we have created additional formats that can be customised to your requirements (think Construction, suppliers/trades and scheduling/production estimating team). Please contact James Salt to discuss setting up these additional report formats. These will show under the Reports button on the job details page and are not visible to the client.

Constructive 4.16 – 3D Model Improvements and Package multiple choice

1. 3D Model Improvements
We’ve greatly improved our 3D model mapping screen, and added functionality to hide specific 3D shapes on a job by job basis.

This also is building the groundwork for even more intelligent auto mapping of 3D elements to selections.

2. Multiple Package Options per Selection
Further enhancing packages, we now allow multiple options from a single selection in the same package. Once the package is selected the client is then presented with a further choice of which of these choices to choose.

Once selected this outstanding package selection is shown using an exclamation mark, indicating to the client there is still selections to resolve.

A choice in a package can also now be specific to an area of the house, so a sanitaryware package could have different taps between the ensuite and bathroom, even though they are the same selection.

3. Selection Group Progress
We’ve improved the auto ticking of the selection group so that it now ignores hidden selections when calculating if the group should be ticked. Giving a better progress indication to the client.

4. Client Hidden Choices
We can now auto-hide specific choices from clients. So we can have additional choices only the selections consultant will see, and they are hidden from the client when they are making selections at home. Think of additional upgrade items that need discussing or the catch-all ‘Other’ option that you don’t want to show the client.

Just tick the hidden tick box next to the item, and the choice will be auto hidden from the client.

5. House Types Admin Screen
We’ve given the house type maintenance screen some love, upgrading its user interface with our modern controls. You’ll find it more user friendly.

Constructive 4.13 – Pre Deposit Selections and House type pricing

1. Pre Deposit Selections
We’ve added in a small but vital piece of the puzzle allowing a job to change job number. This allows for quotes to then later be turned into jobs. The applications are endless for this and will mean we are able to extend into the sales cycle, bringing the brilliant customer service tools to bear during sales.

2. Pricing by Housetype and Job Dimension type
We’ve extended sell pricing so that you can define specific prices for house types. For example a specific upgrade package might be priced at the Housetype level as each housetype would be a different price. We have also enabled specific prices per Dimension type, so that a Sink mixer tapware might be different price in the laundry versus the Kitchen due to different labour costs.

We will hide these two new options, unless you really want to use them to keep the pricing screen as simple as possible. So just click on the right arrow to see and edit these settings.

3. Select and apply to all areas
A small but very useful improvement. The client is now able to select a choice and have it apply to all areas. For example choose a basin mixer and apply it to all rooms (Bathroom, ensuite and powder) in one go. Just make sure you’re making selections against each area.

4. Message reply to clients email address
When a message is sent from the portal by the client, the email that is generated now if replied to automatically goes to the clients email address. This makes it a lot easier for the customer service staff to action immediately.

Constructive 4.12 – Selection Packages and Choice Notes

1. Selection Packages
A little-used feature selection packages has got a major upgrade, enabling you to setup packages of selections right in the selection template edit screen. We’ve also greatly enhanced the client facing user interface to better show what is in the package.

We now also allow any number of package selections across the selection template, so you can have an external as well as internal package selection.

A package can have a sell price to enable you to give package discounts. But we’ve built the smarts in behind to say if an item from the package is unselected then the package price is removed and it goes back to the original individual pricing.

All of this is easy to setup in your selection template. Just go to add a new selection and create a new package selection. Then add items to the package that are already in your selection template. Please note you cannot add more than one item from each selection.

2. Selection notes
A small feature in terms of the user interface change, but a massive feature for your selections consultants. Now on any selection you can put a notation against it, clarifying position, disclaimers or anything else your selection consultants desire.

This is stored against the item and will show on the ‘My Selections’ screen, as well as the Selected Items Report. You can customise the selected items report to suit your specific write up requirements.

We believe this will begin to change how you use online selections.

Constructive 4.11 – Client Surveys

1. Outstanding surveys now on night Activity update email
We’ve now added a list of the surveys that are awaiting a response to the activity update email generated in the portal. This means every time you alert the client to new progress, photos or documents, it will also remind them to complete any outstanding surveys.

This drives significantly higher response rates from your customers without pestering them with new emails.

2. SurveyMonkey Integration Upgrade
We have now upgraded our Survey Monkey integration to get the survey completed notification back to the portal immediately, so the client will instantly see in the portal that the survey has been completed.

3. Additional Survey variables
When requesting the survey Constructive can automatically pass any of the following information to the survey tool to allow better analysis of root causes or actions to take.

Sales Consultant
Contract Administrator
Client Liaison
Supervisor
Business Unit
Brand
Region
Job No
Client Name
Lot Address
Finance Broker
Selections Meeting Date and Time
Selections Consultant

4. Updated Survey Admin screen
We’ve now added the ability to search your Survey Monkey surveys by text when setting which survey should be sent at each progress completion trigger.
